ADP LWN Turbocharger Upgrade (2016-2021 GM 2.8L Duramax)
The small factory turbocharger on the 2.8L Duramax is great for rapid response but falls short in areas including durability and flow. It is not uncommon to see the stock GTB1752 Turbo on the LWN have bearing failures on stock tunes or aftermarket calibrations. Additionally they are exceptionally failure prone during winter months where the compressor inlet groove may see ice accumulation that bends the blades during start up.
At this time our 44.5mm and 50mm turbo bolt on kits/tuning are in development. We are however going to make available a build your own kit where we will provide the parts to build your own kit. Once completed we will offer our complete turbo kit with the installation hardware.
43mm- The SR71 is a drop in turbocharger upgrade with machined housings, upgraded compressor and turbine wheels and a larger vane assembly.
44.5mm- The 44.5mm is a complete new turbocharger not at all related the Stock or SR71(43mm) units. This turbocharger has larger housings, larger wheels, larger vanes and a curved compressor discharge.
50mm- The 50mm is the ultimate performance turbocharger built on the same frame as the 44.5mm. That is where the similarities end, billet 50mm compressor wheel, GEN5 GTD VNT system, and a ball bearing center housing make this the pinnacle of power for the 2.8L Duramax.
