Recipes for Power
We are here to answer the age old question, "What do I need to do to my truck to attain a certain horsepower level?" If you're here it's likely that you are asking the same question. On this page you will find a list of products for your truck that will assist you in not only achieving your power gains but also assisting in supporting your truck at these power levels. It's one thing to make the power, it's another to be able to have your truck live daily at that same power level. While the products we mention are not to be looked at as the absolute or only option we do feel they are the best suited based on our hands on experience with them.
Keep in mind that even though the manufacturer rates the 2.8L Duramax at 181hp and 369lb-ft of torque, this is an engine rating. On a dyno, the actual rear wheel horsepower for these trucks is about 145whp and 295lb-ft of torque. It's best not to look at all the manufacturers claimed horsepower and torque gains and add them together as often these gains unless specified, are advertised at the engine and are still subject to driveline loss.
